Utah Photography School is all about helping you to improve and understand the art of photography. If you are just starting to explore photography or have been shooting for years there’s a photography class or workshop for you.
We offer classes for Photographers of all skill levels.
Introduction to Digital Photography
A 4 class introduction that will give you a great foundation for understanding photography. We will cover camera function, composition, lighting, exposure and more. This class is a great starting point for anyone who is excited about learning the basics of photography. No experience needed for this class.
Digital Photography 1
An extensive beginning photography class using your digital SLR camera. No photographic experience is required for this class. If you have not taken a photography class before or if you have been taking photos for a while this is a great place to start. We will cover digital SLR camera operation, photographing in manual exposure mode, composing to get the strongest emotional impact, understanding light and how it effects your photographs, creative exposure techniques for motion and depth, photographing people, natural light portraits and much more. We will use Adobe Lightroom for editing your photos to make them look great for printing and web use. We go into more depth on the subjects covered in the Introduction to Digital Photography.
Digital Photography 2
An intense photography class where we dive deeper into the concepts learned from Digital Photography 1. We will apply complex exposure techniques for perfect exposure, then correct and output digital files for fine art printing and web use. This class requires a firm knowledge of the basics of photography and it is strongly suggested you have completed Digital Photography 1 before taking this class.
Teen Digital Photography Day Camp
A week long, full day photographic experience for teens. No prior photographic knowledge is required for this class. Daily classes will cover camera function, composition, light, portraits, editing photographs using Lightroom, printing and more. After classroom instruction teen photographers will go out and photograph at various locations to practice what they’ve learned. Parents are welcome to take the class along with their teen.

We are available for one on one private lessons covering any aspect of photography.
